My name is Guillaume. I am a watch and style aficionado who used to work in the Swiss watch industry. After several years at the service of some of the most prestigious watchmaking companies, I decided to start my own brand.

Here is how the journey started

I inherited from my grand-grand uncle a beautiful unbranded vintage chronograph from the 50s. This family jewel, once restored, quickly caught the eyes of my friends but the price, for most of them, was a real deal breaker.

This is exactly why William L. 1985 was born: to offer quality timepieces with classic designs for a very attractive price point.

So here is my idea

For nearly a year and thanks to my many contacts within the watchmaking industry, I developed a modern and affordable version of my vintage chronograph. No pretending here!

The brand does not hide its Chinese production. Each piece is conceived in Paris and manufactured in Shenzhen, enabling William L. 1985 to compete in this price range.

To initiate my project, I naturally chose the crowdfunding option and rapidly got very positive feedbacks and more importantly a community that shares my philosophy.
